Since 2009, Sam Razavi (MSc.) has been a Middle East analyst—specializing on Iran—in various departments of the Canadian government. He is currently a senior analyst at Global Affairs Canada (GAC, since 2019). Prior to that, he worked at the Department of National Defence (DND, 2016-2019) and at the Privy Council Office (PCO, 2009-2016). He has co-edited the book Iranian foreign policy since 2001: Alone in the world (Routledge, 2013) with Thomas Juneau. He has also published in peer-reviewed journals (The Nonproliferation Review; Analytica Iranica) and in the Montreal-based dailies La Presse and Le Devoir. He is also a Fellow at the Raoul Dandurand Chair in Strategic and Diplomatic Studies at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM).
