“I have had the privilege of being a work-study student at the Elahé Omidyar Mir-Djalali Institute of Iranian Studies since May of this year. In this capacity, I have been deeply engaged in researching and writing biographies for the most influential actresses in Iranian cinema. This project has allowed me to explore the rich history and contributions of Iranian women to the world of cinema, shedding light on their remarkable achievements and often overlooked stories. As a work-study student, I have had the opportunity to delve into archival research, seeking out information and narratives that may not be readily accessible elsewhere. This experience has not only honed my research skills but has also fostered my ability to work collaboratively within a team, as we strive to uncover and document the significant contributions of Iranian actresses throughout history.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my involvement with the Institute has been witnessing the collective achievements of our team. Together, we have overcome various challenges and obstacles, pooling our resources and expertise to produce high-quality biographies that celebrate the diverse talents and achievements of Iranian actresses.
On a personal level, my time at the Institute has been transformative. I have developed valuable skills in time management, organization, and collaboration, which I know will serve me well in my future endeavors. Moreover, immersing myself in the world of Iranian cinema has deepened my understanding of this cultural landscape and has fueled my passion for promoting awareness and recognition of the contributions of Iranian women to the arts.
Overall, the Institute of Iranian Studies stands as an exemplary institution of learning and community. It provides a platform for meaningful research, collaboration, and engagement, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of Iranian culture and heritage.
