Advanced Syntax II: Topics in the Syntax of Iranian Languages

This course focuses on four topics: Nominal Linkers, Differential Object Marking, Complex Predicates and Ergativity & the distribution of clitics. While Iranian languages will provide the source of data and literature for the course, they are really a vehicle to delve into four major topics of general interest to syntacticians. In other words, the course should be of interest to both those working on or interested in Iranian languages and anyone who might have an interest in any or all of these topics.
