Mahmood Fotoohi Rudmajani is Emeritus Professor of Persian Language and Literature at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. Since 2008 he has served as the editor in chief of the quarterly Literary Criticism, an academic Journal of Tarbiat Modarres university. In 2009 he was selected as the Chair of the Iranian Literary Criticism Association (ILCA), an academic non-government organization (NGO) in Iran, for two years. He held the position of Lecturer in Persian language and Iranian Studies at Australian National University (ANU) in 2012 and, from 2001-2003, at the University of Belgrade. His areas of specialization encompass Persian poetry in the Safavid period, Indo-Persian poetry, Persian stylistics, traditional rhetoric (Arabic and Persian), Persian literary history, and Persian language pedagogy. He was born and raised in Torbat Heydariyeh, Iran (1964), and received his BA in Persian language from Tarbiat Moallem University in Tehran, his MA in Persian literature, and a PhD in Indo-Persian literary criticism from the University of Tehran.
