Sara is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Toronto. Her dissertation project, titled “The Poetics of Home and Politics of Return: Investigating Iranian Return Migration and Mobility,” examines the narratives and practices of return among Iranian migrants and diaspora communities. Sara has received the Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) for both her master’s and doctoral studies. She holds an MA in anthropology from the University of Toronto and a BA (Honours) in anthropology from the University of Calgary. Sara is also a researcher at the Canada Excellent Research Chair (CERC) in Migration and Integration at Toronto Metropolitan University, working on a project that explores the homemaking and homeownership experiences of Iranian immigrants in Toronto.
