Kathryn Kelley (DPhil, University of Oxford, 2018) was a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow working on the project that explores the economies realities and cultural representations of women in early Mesopotamian economies, tracing the sector of brewing, redistribution, sale, and consumption of beer from the earliest records until the end of the Old Babylonian period. Areas of interest include 3rd and 2nd millennium BC Near Eastern economies and societies, proto-cuneiform writing, the decipherment of Proto-Elamite writing, late 4th to 3rd millennium Iranian societies, cultural interaction between Mesopotamia and Iran, interdisciplinary methodologies and the impact of academic disciplinary boundaries on research generation.
