Chad Lingwood is currently associate professor in the History Department at Grand Valley State University. He is the author of Politics, Poetry, and Sufism in Medieval Iran: New Perspectives on Jāmī’s Salāmān va Absāl (Brill, 2014). His publications have appeared in Iranian Studies, the Journal of Persianate Studies, and the International Journal of Persian Literature. Dr. Lingwood’s areas of interest are Iranian history, classical Persian literature, and Islamic mysticism (Sufism), with a focus on Persian poetry related to the Aq Qoyunlu dynasty. He teaches history courses at Grand Valley on Islamic civilization, the Middle East, Iran, and U.S. foreign relations.
